నేర పరిశోధన శాఖ
నేర పరిశోధన శాఖ (Crime Investigation Department or CID) ప్రపంచంలోని కొన్ని దేశాల పోలీస్ వ్యవస్థలోని ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన విభాగం. వీరు నేరాల్ని పరిశోధించి నేరస్థుల్ని పట్టిస్తారు. వీరిని డిటెక్టివ్స్ అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు.
ది మెట్రోపోలిటన్ పోలీస్ సర్వీసు ఇలాంటి మొట్టమొదటి సంస్థను 7 ఏప్రిల్ 1878 లో C. E. Howard Vincent నెలకొల్పారు.

చాలా దేశాలలో నేర పరిశోధన శాఖలోని పనిచేస్తున్న వ్యక్తుల రాంకులు ఇలా ఉంటాయి :
- డిటెక్టివ్ కానిస్టేబుల్ (DC or Det Con)
- డిటెక్టివ్ సార్జెంట్ (DS or Det Sgt)
- డిటెక్టివ్ ఇన్ స్పెక్టర్ (DI or Det Insp)
- ఛీఫ్ డిటెక్టివ్ ఇన్ స్పెక్టర్ (DCI or Det Ch Insp)
- డిటెక్టివ్ సూపరింటెండెంట్ (DSI or Det Supt)
- ఛీఫ్ డిటెక్టివ్ సూపరింటెండెంట్ (DCS or Det Ch Supt)

భారతదేశంలో నేర పరిశోధన శాఖ Crime Branch CID (Crime Investigation Department) (sometimes known as Investigation Branch) is a specialised wing in many state police forces in India of their Crime Investigation Department (CID).[1][2][3] Personnel attached to this wing essentially work in plain clothes or Mufti. Other branches of the CID are, State Crime Investigation Bureau, Finger Print Bureau and Scientific Section.[1]
