العربية: مكَّاكٌ بربريٌّ (Macaca sylvanus) في محميَّة الصخرة العُليا في جبل طارق. على الرُغم من أنَّ هذا النوع من السعادين يُعرفُ بين العامَّة باسم "القرد البربري"، غير أنَّه ليس بقردٍ على الإطلاق، بل سعدان (نسناس). تُعدُّ جمهرة المكَّاكات البربريَّة قاطنة جبل طارق آخرُ جمهرات تلك السعادين في كامل أوروبَّا. من المُعتقدات الشائعة في المنطقة، هو أنَّهُ طالما استمرَّت المكَّاكات البربريَّة موجودةً في جبل طارق، فإنَّ الحُكم البريطاني للمنطقة سوف يبقى قائمًا.
English: A Barbary Macaque (Macaca sylvanus) by the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in Gibraltar. Although the species is commonly referred to as the "Barbary Ape", it is in fact a monkey. The Barbary Macaque population in Gibraltar is the last in the whole of the European continent. A popular belief holds that as long as Barbary Macaques exist on Gibraltar, the territory will remain under British rule.
Español: Un macaco de Gibraltar (Macaca sylvanus) en Gibraltar. Es un mono del Viejo Mundo que se encuentra actualmente en algunas zonas reducidas de los Montes Atlas del norte de África y en el Peñón de Gibraltar, en el sur de la Península Ibérica.
