రుద్రా ప్రయాగ ఉత్తరాఖండ్ రాష్ట్రం లో ఒక చిన్న పట్టణం. దీనికి ఈ పేరు హిందువుల ఆరాధ్య దైవమైన శివుడి మరొక అవతారం అయిన రుద్రుడి పేరు మీదుగా వచ్చింది. పురాణాల మేరకు ఈ ప్రదేశంలో నారద మహర్షి శివుడిచే ఆశీర్వదించబడ్డాడు. రుద్రప్రయాగ జిల్లా మూడు జిల్లాలలో నుండి కొంత కొంత భాగం తీసుకొనబడి ఏర్పరచబడినది. ఆ జిల్లాలు చమోలి, పౌరి మరియు తెహ్రి జిల్లాలు. ఈ జిల్లాను 16 సెప్టెంబర్ , 1997 లో ప్రకటించారు. ఈ టవున్ మందాకినీ మరియు అలకనంద నదుల సంగమంలో కలదు.
