The word is #caritaM# not #carita#. It is a delibarate choice - compare the meaning of the word history in the following two words - '

I didn't intend to say #caritra# is wrong, only that #caritaM# is a better translation in this context. Prof. Vemuri Rao, who wrote an English-Telugu dictionary tells me that #caritaM# is not widely used in modern Telugu, but that doesn't mean we should not use it in the Wiki. As I mentioned in my earlier message, there is a distinct difference in the two contexts and we felt that #caritaM# captures the meaning better. If you feel strongly that it is wrong, then we should poll and see what others think too. - Vnagarjuna
