ఈమె సామాజిక శాస్త్రవేత్త. ఆరోగ్య అంశాల్లో సామాజిక కార్యకర్తగా పనిచేసిన ఈమెకు మహిళల ఆరోగ్యంపై విశేషానుభవం ఉంది. సెక్సువల్,రీ ప్రాడక్టివ్ హెల్త్ హక్కుల మీద పనిచేశారు. టాటా ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ సోషల్ స్టడీస్(ముంబై) లో "విమెన్ అండ్ ఎయిడ్స్" అంశం మీద పి.హెచ్.డి చేసారు. అక్కడే అసోసియేట్ ప్రొఫెసర్ గా చాలా కాలం పనిచేశారు.
