దేశ అత్యున్నత పురస్కారమైన భారతరత్న అవార్డును కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం మదన్ మోహన్ మాలవ్యకు 2014లో ప్రకటించింది. ఈయనతోపాటు భాజపా వ్యవస్థాపక అధ్యక్షుడు వాజ్‌పేయీకి భారతరత్న ప్రకటించింది.
