==రాజకీయ జీవితం==
ఆయన [[డిసెంబరు 12]] [[1935]] న తెలుగు బ్రాహ్మణ కుటుంబంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలోని కృష్ణాజిల్లాలో గల మచిలీపట్నం దగ్గరలో జన్మించారు. వృత్తిరీత్యా ఆయన న్యాయవాదిగా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ హైకోర్టులో పనిచేశారు. ఆయన స్వస్థలం [[మచిలీపట్నం]] అయినా [[హైదరాబాద్]] బీజేపీ నేతగానే ప్రసిద్ధులయ్యారు.
 
He was a lawyer by profession and practised at the Andhra Pradesh High Court. In his early career, he was active in trade union litigations and served as President, Employees and Workers Unions of several State and Central Public Sector Undertakings and Corporations, such as AP State Finance Corporation, A.P. State Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, South Central Railways Employee Union etc.
 
He joined Jana Sangh in 1956 as a member and went on to serve as a Member of the National Executive of Bharatiya Jana Sangh for a number of years. Moving into [[Bharatiya Janata Party]] from erstwhile Jana Sangh, he went on to serve as State Unit President for Andhra Pradesh for two consecutive terms (1993-2001) and as Party National Vice President (2002 - 2007). Also, he served as a senate member of [[Osmania University]]
 
ఆయన 1956లో జనసంఘ్ లో సభ్యునిగా చేరారు. అనేక సంవత్సరాలపాటు భారతీయ జనసంఘ్ కు నేషనల్ ఎక్జిక్యూటివ్ సభ్యునిగా తమ సేవలనందించారు. తరువాత భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ లోనికి చేరారు. ఆయన ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ స్టేట్ యూనిట్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ గా రెండు సార్లు ((1993-2001) పనిచేసారు. ఆయన పార్టీ జాతీయ ఉపాధ్యక్షులుగా 2002 నుండి 2007 వరకు ఉన్నారు. ఆయన ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి సెనేట్ సభ్యునిగా కూడా సేవలనందించారు.
==శాసన మండలి సభ్యులుగా==
ఆయన ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ శాసన మండలికి గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ల నియోజకవర్గంలో వరుసగా 1966, 1972, 1978 మరియు 1984 లలో ఎన్నికైనారు. ఆయన పార్టీ ఫ్లోర్ లీడరుగా కూడా వ్యవహరించారు. 2002- 2005 మధ్య కాలంలో సిక్కింకు గవర్నర్ గా పనిచేసిన ఆయన. ఆ పదవి నిర్వహించిన అతికొద్దిమంది తెలుగువారిలో ఒకరు.
 
==సిక్కిం గవర్నర్ గా==
ఆయన ఆగష్టు 2002 న సిక్కిం రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్ గా భారత రాష్ట్రపతిచే నియమింపబడ్డారు.
 
==మరణం==
