== జీవితచరిత్ర ==
ఠాకూర్  ఝార్ఖండ్  రాష్ట్రంలోని  గొడ్డా  జిల్లా,  ఠాకూర్  గంగ్తీ  గ్రామంలో  జన్మించాడు.  ఈయన  క్విట్  ఇండియా  ఉద్యమంలో పాల్గొన్నాడు. 1998  నవంబరు  నుండి 2001  నవంబరు  వరకు.  మరళా 2004  నవంబరు  తర్వాత  భారత  స్కౌట్స్  అండ్  గైడ్స్  అధ్యక్షుడిగా  పనిచేశాడు.  ఠాకూర్ 2007,  ఆగష్టు 21న  కర్ణాటక  రాష్ట్ర 15వ  గవర్నరుగా  ప్రమాణస్వీకారం  చేశాడు.<ref>Vicky Nanjappa, [http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/aug/22guv.htm "Karnataka: Rameshwar Thakur takes charge as governor"], Rediff.com, August 22, 2007.</ref>
