2012 సం.లో మోటుమర్రి-జగ్గయ్యపేట రైలు మార్గము మేళ్ళచెరువు వరకు విస్తరించబడింది. ఇది గుంటూరు-పగిడిపల్లి-సికిందరాబాద్ రైలు మార్గము లోని విష్ణుపురం వరకు విస్తరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది.
