[[2001]] జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారము నగర జనాభా 36.9 [[లక్ష|లక్షలు]]గా అంచనా వేయబడింది. కానీ మహానగర ప్రాంతము యొక్క జనాభా 63.9 లక్షలకు పైగా ఉంటుందని అంచనా. హైదరాబాదులో [[ముస్లిం]] జనాభా 40%గా ఉంది. [[తెలుగు]], [[ఉర్దూ]], [[హిందీ]] ఎక్కువగా మాట్లాడే భాషలు. వ్యాపార వ్యవహారాల్లో [[ఇంగ్లీషు]] ఎక్కువగానే వాడుతారు. భారత దేశములోని అనేక ప్రాంతములనుండి ప్రజలు హైదరాబాదుకు వచ్చి స్థిరపడ్డారు.▼
