(The Indian Wikimedia community had two national community conferences till date i.e. in 2011 and in 2016. Both the conferences had been effective in bringing the diverse and the massive Indian community together for a collective and collaborative effort. The cross-community connections made during these conferences led many future activities across the country.
We haven’t had a national conference in India since 2016. Though we have had several national-level events, but not in a conference format. A national conference will help us to connect from people from other communities, share knowledge, learn new stuff, and come closer to the Wiki-family. After almost three years since the last conference, there is a need for the Indian community to organise the next one for itself.
In this context, we would like to propose hosting the next conference for 2020 in Hyderabad, Telangana. For 2016, we had the process of bidding and jury, but since then organizing the next WCI has been long ignored, going through the entire process of bidding again will only lead to wastage of volunteer time and energy. So, we are proposing this forward. At this point, we would also like to make it clear that we are only proposing conduct it in Hyderabad, considering the connectivity of the city, the facilities it has to offer, and also the capacity of community from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to organise the conference on-ground. But the conference will be collaboratively organised with the support from Wikimedians across India, as done in 2011 and 2016
నమస్కారం! భారతదేశంలో ఇప్పటి వరకు రెండు జాతీయ వికీమీడియా సమావేశాలు జరిగాయి, [[m:WikiConference India 2011|మొదటది ముంబైలో]], [[m:WikiConference India 2016|రెండోది చండీగఢ్ లో]]. ఈ విషయం మనలో చాల మందికి తెలిసినదే. 2016 చండీగఢ్ లోని సమావేశం ముగించేప్పుడు ఇలాంటి సమావేశాలు ప్రతి సంవత్సరం జరగాలి అని భావించారు. కానీ గత మూడు సంవత్సరాలుగా అదేమీ జరగలేదు. భారతదేశంలో ఇరవైకి పైగా భాషలలో వికీమీడియా ప్రాజెక్టులు ఉన్నాయి, ప్రతి భాష వారికీ వాళ్ళ బలాలు-బలహీనతలు ఉన్నాయ్. తమ బలాలను ఇతరా భాషల వారితో పంచుకొంటూ, వారి నుండి నేర్చుకోవటం చాల ముఖ్యం. అది సమర్థవంతంగా జరగాలంటే ఇలాంటి సమావేశాలు చాలా అవసరం. చాల కొద్ది మంది వికీమీడియన్లకు అంతర్జాతీయ సమావేశాలు హాజరు అయ్యే అవకాశం వస్తుంది, వారు అక్కడ చాలానే నేర్చుకుంటారు. వారు నేర్చుకున్న దాని నుంచి, ఇతర నైపుణ్యాలు ఉన్న వికీమీడియన్ల నుండి మనము కొత్త విషయాలు నేర్చుకోవాలన్నా ఇలాంటి సమావేశాలు చాలానే అవసరం.
