Around the 7th century, a Chola kingdom flourished in present-day Andhra Pradesh.{{sfnp|Chopra|Ravindran|Subrahmanian|2003|p=95|ps=}} These [[Telugu Cholas]] traced their descent to the early Sangam Cholas.
