Roger Ivie & Silvercreek Band

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Genres: Country

Roger Ivie was born in Duncan Okalahoma in 1955. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to California and as migrant workers they followed the harvest season through all the western states until the early 1960's.

Roger was on his own after leaving home at the age of 14. By the time he turned 17 he had signed up with the U. S. Army as a Vietnam volunteer. After a couple of years in the army he started his entertainment career by playing guitar and singing in the local bars in and around Duncan.

In the late 1970's he relocated to Oklahoma City and soon became one of the premier country entertainers in the state. It was not surprising that his contemporaries included such one-day-to-be-famous talents as Toby Keith, Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, none of which were famous at the time.
With two "Billboard" chart singles to the band's credit, Roger Ivie and Texas Rose, formerly Silver Creek, have headlined their own shows for years and shared the stage with almost every major act in country music. They write and perform their own unique material and through years of paying dues in honky-tonks and dance venues all over the country, they are adept at playing anything an audience wants to hear.

This is a high-energy professional stage show with a range of multi-talented members that makes for an exciting event on the stage and in the audience, with a powerhouse sound that hits you in the chest, whether it be an arena or large nightclub venue. The band melds their varied origins and musical influences into a dynamic mix of Oklahoma’s own Roger Ivie on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Larry Leon Miller's Cajun-Oklahoma (Cajun-homa) fiddle and Texas blues harp, all held together with a rock solid beat from Jack Propps the band’s drummer are taken and blended into a unique sound that follows their own trail, through the heart and soul of country music and the Big Beat. Together they form a hard country-based Southern sound emulated by many players who have followed the band and the people who love to listen.
Roger Ivie and the band are credited with putting that Country Bluegrass sound in the national spotlight with their début Billboard chart single “You and Me and Tennessee” long before the movie came out. Their second Billboard single, “Lonely Women” went into the charts while their first single was still climbing with a bullet. They play for the love of the music and this heart-felt passion for true Country is not lost on their audience.
