ఆధునిక వైద్యములో 'కణితి' అంటే ముద్ద ఏర్పరిచే ఒక నియొప్లాసము అని అర్ద్ధము.కాని పూర్వము 'కణితి'
అనే పదాన్ని వేరే అర్ద్ధములో వాడేవారు. అన్ని నియొప్లాసములు ముద్దలు ఏర్పర్చవని మనం గమనించాలి.
