జయంతి (నటి): కూర్పుల మధ్య తేడాలు

ప్రసిద్ధ దక్షిణ భారత సినిమా నటి '''జయంతి''' అసలు పేరు '''కమల కుమారి'''. [[శ్రీకాళహస్తి]] లో పుట్టి పెరిగిన ఈమె తెలుగు సినిమాల్లో నటన ప్రారంభించి [[కన్నడం]]లో రాజ్‌కుమార్‌కు సమానంగా అభిమానులను సంపాదించుకున్నారు.

 

మద్రాసులో బడికి వెళ్తూ కమలకుమారి నాటి ప్రముఖ నర్తకి, నాట్య విదుషీమణి [[చంద్రకళ]] వద్ద నాట్యం నేర్చుకోసాగింది. ఒకనాడు కన్నడ సినిమా షూటింగ్ చూడడానికి స్కూలు విద్యార్ధినులతో వెళ్ళింది. ప్రముఖ కన్నడ చిత్ర దర్శకుడు [[వై.ఆర్.స్వామి]] కమలకుమారి రూపురేఖల్ని చుసి ''జేనుగూడు'' (''Jenu Goodu'') అనే సినిమాలోని ముగ్గురు నాయికల్లో ఒకరిగా ఎంపిక చేశారు. కమలకుమారి పేరు లోగడ చాలామందికి అచ్చిరాలేదని ఆమె పేరును జయంతిగా మార్చారు.<ref name="deccan"> {{cite news

Jayanthi was born in [[Bellary]]. Her maiden name before she came to films was Kamala Kumari. Her father Balasubramanyam worked as English professor at the St Joseph's College in [[Bangalore]]. Her mother was Santhanalakshmi. Jayanthi was the eldest of three siblings and had two younger brothers.

Jayanthi's childhood was never smooth. Her parents separated early in life and her mother took the children and moved to [[Madras]]. Jayanthi's mother was keen on making her daughter a classical dancer and hence she joined a dance school run by Chandrakala. Her friend in dance school was the famous Tamil actress [[Manorama]].
