ప్రసేకానికి ఆనుకొని వుండే [[స్కీన్ గ్రంధి]] (Skene's gland) స్త్రీలలో పౌరుష గ్రంధికి సమజాతం (homologous) గా పేర్కొనేవారు. 2002 సంవత్సరంలో దీనిని అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించి [[స్త్రీల పౌరుష గ్రంధి]] (Female Prostate gland) గా గుర్తించారు.<ref>

However, anatomically, the [[uterus]] is in the same position as the prostate gland. In 2002 the Skene's gland was officially renamed to female prostate by the ''Federative International Committee on Anatomical Terminology''.<ref>
