ఆస్కార్ పిస్టోరియస్
ఆస్కార్ లెనర్డ్ కార్ల్ పిస్టోరియస్ అలనాటి దక్షిణాఫ్రికా క్రీడాకారుడు. జన్మసిద్ధ లోపం వలన 11 నెలల వయసులో రెండు కాళ్ళూ కోల్పోయిన ఇతడు, కృత్రిమ పాదాలు (బ్లేడ్స్) ద్వారా పరుగు పందేలలో పాల్గొంటూ బ్లేడ్ రన్నర్ గా ఖ్యాతినొందాడు. కాళ్ళు లేని వాళ్ళకు నిర్వహించే పరుగు పందేలతో పాటు, మామూలు పందేలలో కూడా ఇతను పోటీ పడ్డాడు. పెరలింపిక్స్‌లోనూ, ఒలింపిక్స్‌లోనూ కూడా పాల్గొన్న క్రీడాకారుల్లో ఇతను పదవ వాడు. 2014 లో తన ప్రేయసిని హతమార్చినందుకు ఇతనికి ఐదేశ్శ కారాగార శిక్ష పడింది.[13]

బ్లేడ్ రన్నర్ ఆస్కార్ పిస్టోరియస్కు ఐదేళ్ల జైలు శిక్ష విధించారు. ఈ మేరకు దక్షిణాఫ్రికా జడ్జి తొకొజైల్ మసిపా తన తీర్పు వెలువరించారు. తన స్నేహితురాలిని తుపాకితో కాల్చిచంపినందుకు పిస్టోరియస్ ఐదు సంవత్సరాల పాటు జైల్లోనే ఉండాలని తీర్పు ఇచ్చారు.
2013 సంవత్సరంలో ప్రేమికుల రోజైన ఫిబ్రవరి 14న తన స్నేహితురాలు రీవా స్టీన్ క్యాంప్ ను పిస్టోరియస్ కాల్చి చంపాడు. అయితే.. అది హత్య కాదని, హత్యకు దారితీసిన పరిస్థితి (కల్పబుల్ హోమిసైడ్) అని జడ్జి భావించారు. అందుకే ఐదు సంవత్సరాల జైలు శిక్ష విధించారు. మరో కేసులో మూడేళ్ల సస్పెండ్ శిక్ష కూడా పిస్టోరియస్ కు విధించారు.[13]
