Botad District (Gujarati: બોટાદ જિલ્લો) is a newly formed district of the state of Gujarat, India on August 15, 2013 along with several other new districts on the 67th Independence Day of India.[1] Botad city is the administrative headquarters of the district.

This district is surrounded by Bhavnagar district in South East, surendranagar district in North and north west, Amreli district in southwest, amadavad district in north east and Rajkot district in west.

Gujarat chief Minister Narendra Modi added another name to the list of districts which will come to existence from January 26, 2013. The new district of Botad has been carved out from Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad. The area is 2,564 km2 and density of 255 per km2. District consists of four talukas.[citation needed]
