2016-17 సీఐఎస్-ఎ2కె తెలుగు ఫోకస్ లాంగ్వేజ్ ప్రణాళిక యొక్క అర్థ సంవత్సర నివేదిక ఇది. ఇది మెటా వికీలోని ప్రోగ్రస్ రిపోర్ట్ కు అనువాదం, మూల ప్రతిని ఇక్కడ చదవవచ్చు.
నివేదిక ఉద్దేశ్యం మార్చు
తమ సంవత్సర ప్రణాళిక నిధులు (Annual Plan Grants) పొందే సంస్థలు తాము మొదటి ఆరునెలల్లో సాధించిన ఫలితాలను వివరించేందుకు ఈ నివేదిక ఉపకరిస్తుంది. సంవత్సర ప్రణాళిక ముగిశాకా ఇంపాక్ట్ రిపోర్ట్ ద్వారా ఈ అర్థ సంవత్సర నివేదికలో ప్రతిబింబించిన ప్రగతి, తర్వాతి ఆరునెలల ప్రగతీ కలిపి నివేదిస్తారు. ఈ నివేదిక ప్రధానంగా నాలుగు విభాగాలుగా విభజింపబడింది: గ్లోబల్ మెట్రిక్స్ ని, కార్యక్రమ కథనాలను, ఆర్థిక సమాచారం, సమ్మతి వంటివాటితో ఉంది.
గ్లోబల్ మెట్రిక్స్ మార్చు
కంటెంట్, పార్టిసిపేషన్లను అభివృద్ధి చేయడంలో వికీమీడియా ఫౌండేషన్ వ్యూహాత్మక లక్ష్యాల వైపు కీలకమైన పురోగతిని కొలిచేందుకు "గ్లోబల్ మెట్రిక్స్" రూపకల్పన చేశారు. వివిధ గ్రాంట్ ప్రాజెక్టుల లక్ష్యాలు, కొలిచే మానాలను రెండేళ్ళపాటు గమనించాకా, కొన్ని ముఖ్యమైన మెట్రిక్స్ సాధారణంగా చాలా ప్రాజెక్టుల్లో ఉపయోగించే సూచికలుగా ముందుకువచ్చాయి, ఐతే ఇవి ప్రాజెక్టులు/గ్రాంటులు అన్నిటికీ అన్నీ ఒకేలా పొసగవని వికీమీడియా ఫౌండేషన్ గమనించింది. ఐతే గ్రాంట్లు ఇచ్చేవారు, స్వీకరించి పనిచేసేవారు కలిపి ఉమ్మడిగా ఓ స్టేట్మెంట్ ఇచ్చేందుకు ఇవి పనికివస్తాయి. గ్లోబల్ మెట్రిక్స్ దానికవే తుద కాదు. ఈ మెట్రిక్స్ ని ఉపయోగించి చూసినప్పుడు మంచి లేదా చెడ్డ ఫలితాలు అని చెప్పలేం, అవి ప్రభావాన్ని అంచనావేసేప్పుడు మొదటి మెట్టుగానే చూడాలి. అవి వ్యూహాత్మక లక్ష్యాలకు అనుసంధానించి పరిశీలించుకునేందుకు, ప్రణాళిక అమలులో సాధ్యమైన మొత్తం పార్టిసిపేషన్, కంటెంట్లను అంచనా వేయడానికి, స్థిరమైన కొలమానాల కింద తీసుకోవచ్చు. కానీ అవి నివేదించదగ్గ ఏకైక సంఖ్యలు కావు, చాలా ప్రాజెక్టులను అంచనా వేసేందుకు అత్యుత్తమ కొలమానాలు కాదు, సందర్భం నుంచి వేరుచేసి విడిగా పరిశీలించేందుకు కాదు

Edit-a-thons మార్చు
- Telugu Wikipedia Workshop in JKCC, Guntur : As the first workshop held in Jagarlmudi Kuppuswamy Chowdary College (JKCC), Guntur, the event helped student participants create Wikipedia accounts and familiarized them with the guidelines and style of Wikipedia editing. The student Wikipedians later went on to improve Telugu Wikipedia quality by adding images to articles and fixing dead-end pages that do not have any inter-wiki links.
- Approaching communities of interest : CIS-A2K has carried out a pilot project to conduct mini-workshops for individuals and groups of experts in various fields, including literature, films, science, and sports, as an approach to recruit new Wikipedians and improve the online content. The target experts, or the "communities of interest", contribute to Telugu Wikipedia by expanding content coverage, providing expertise and resources in various fields, as well as establishing inter-disciplinary and inter-regional networks for the Telugu Wikipedian community. Online and on-site mini-workshops both have been conducted for the communities of interest in Geology and Film Studies.
- Expand topic coverage in Telugu Wikipedia : Online edit-a-thons are conducted along with local Wikipedians to improve and create articles in topics that are underrepresented in Telugu Wikipedia, such as tourist sites in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. CIS-A2K also provides guidance and support to community's participation in nationwide edit-a-thons and global initiatives like Wikipedia Asian month. One of the community members observed that these activities help the community to come together and work more collaboratively.

- Telugu Wikipedia workshop in Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada : From 16 to 18 August 2016, A2K organized a Telugu Wikipedia workshop for students in Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada. During the event, most students registered accounts and learned the essential skills to contribute to Wikipedia as first-time editors. As many articles in Telugu Wikipedia didn't have images, the student Wikipedians helped improve 118 articles by adding at least one image for each page. The participants also learned to use the content translation tool to translate 31 articles into Telugu Wikipedia. Some also worked on Wikidata and improved 32 items.
