భారతదేశంలో ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ [[భారత ఎన్నికల కమీషను]] ఆధ్వర్యంలో జరుగుతుంది. ఈ కమీషనును [[భారత రాజ్యాంగం]] ఏర్పాటు చేసినది. ఈ ఎన్నికల కమీషను, న్యాయస్థానాలకు అతీతంగా పని చేస్తుంది. కొన్నిసార్లు తానే న్యాయస్థానంగా కూడా పనిచేస్తుంది. ఓటర్ల నమోదు కార్యక్రమం, ఓటర్ల గుర్తింపు కార్డుల విడుదల, ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ, ఎన్నికల ఫలితాల ప్రకటన మొదలగు కార్యక్రమాలు సమర్థవంతంగా నిర్వహిస్తుంది.
Elections in India are conducted by the [[Election Commission of India]], the authority created under the [[Constitution of India|Constitution]]. It is a well established convention that once the election process commences; no courts intervene until the results are declared by the election commission. During the elections, vast powers are assigned to the election commission to the extent that it can function as a civil court, if needed.
