మగ్గం అనేది వస్త్రాలను తయారు చేసేందుకు ఉపయోగంచు సాధనం. దీనిని ఉపయోగించు వారనిని [[నేతకారుడు]] అని, దీనిపై చేయు పనిని [[చేనేత]] అని అంటారు.

1404 లో ఇది వస్త్రాలుగా నేత దారం ప్రారంభించడానికి ఉపయోగించే ఒక యంత్రం అని అర్థం. 1838 నాటికి ఇది దారం నూలు తో వస్త్రాలను తయారి యంత్రం అని వాడుకరిలోకి వచింది.
