The important tributaries of Pennar are Jayamangali, Chitravati, Kunderu, Papagni, Sagileru, Cheyyuru, Boggeru and Biraperu.Pennar Basin extends over an area of 55,213 km2 which is nearly 1.7% of total geographical area of the country. The basin lies in the states of ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ (48,276 km2) and కర్నాటక (6,937 km2).
