Usage

Use this template if someone leaves a {{Help me}} on their talk page that looks better suited for the English Wikipedia Help channel on IRC. Remember to substitute this template; if not, you will unwittingly leave an error message in addition to the template, making you look like the newbie.

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopedic content.

• {{Admin help}} – When you need help from an administrator.
• {{Edit semi-protected}} – When you need other editors to update a page, if you are not logged in and thus can not edit a semi-protected page.

For helpers who answer:

• {{Help me-IRC}} – A message that asks the user to come to IRC for more help.
• {{Help me-working}} – A message that tells the user that their question is being worked on. Also provides IRC information.

• {{Help me-inappropriate}} – A message telling the user that a helper has deemed their question as an inappropriate use for the {{Help me}} template.

• {{subst:Help me-ns}} – A message that can be used when a user used the {{Help me}} template but is looking for an answer from a specific editor.
