This template was previously used to tag pages that have been protected from creation. It is now deprecated in favour of code at MediaWiki:Titleprotected. When this template was used, administrators needed to set the protection reason as {{pp-create}} in order to display a protection banner. However, now users will see a protection banner no matter what the protection reason was.
