వికీపీడియా:WikiProject Trains/nav

The {{WikiProject Trains}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

It is important that the capitalisation shown above be used. For example, using |Streetcars=yes by mistake for |streetcars=yes will fail to place the article within WikiProject Streetcars; similarly, using |underground=yes instead of |Underground=yes will not add the article to WikiProject London Transport.

Template display formatting parameters:

  • small - show the normal or reduced size template; shows the reduced size template if small=yes.
  • listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Richard Trevithick, |listas=Trevithick, Richard, so that the talk page will show up in the T's and not the R's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category.
It is not required if an earlier WikiProject template on the same page has its own |listas= set.

Article assessment parameters:

  • class:

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Trains}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Trains|class=???}}

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Quality scale for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class rail transport articles) Featured article FA
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class rail transport articles) A-Class article A
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class rail transport articles)  GA
B (adds articles to Category:B-Class rail transport articles) B-Class article B
C (adds articles to Category:C-Class rail transport articles) C-Class article C
Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class rail transport articles) Start-Class article Start
Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class rail transport articles) Stub-Class article Stub

For pages that are not articles, the following values can also be used for the class parameter:

??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unassessed rail transport articles)  ???
  • importance:

మూస:Assessment Importance Summary

Portal appearance parameters:

  • portaldykdate - the date when a fact from the associated article appeared in the "Did you know" section of Portal:Trains.
  • portalSAweek - the week number and year when the article appeared in the "Selected article" section
  • portalSIweek - the week number and year when the image appeared in the "Selected picture" section

Project work parameters (set them to "yes" to include them):

Subproject maintenance parameters (set them to "yes" to include them; note that these are not mutually exclusive):

Task force maintenance parameters (set them to "yes" to include them):

Miscellaneous maintenance parameters (set them to "yes" to include them):

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
