గుంటూరు రైల్వే డివిజను is one of the six divisions of South Central Railway (SCR), a zone of the Indian Railways. It administer's the rail transport in the east-central areas of Andhra Pradesh and covers the districts of Nalgonda, Guntur, Kurnool and Prakasam. With a system length of 1748 km, it is the third largest division of SCR, with 67 major and minor stations spread over a total route length of 618.8 km. The Guntur Division is also one of the newest divisions of Indian Railways, when announced in 1997 by the then Railway Minister of India. It became fully functional from 1 April, 2003 with P.N Shukla as its first Divisional Railway Manager. Consisting entirely of Broad Gauge track, it was formed by merging the most far-flung and least productive stretches of Vijayawada, Secunderabad and Guntakal divisions of the South Central Railway. Guntur Junction is the largest railway station of this division, located in Guntur City.

The division's total expenditure in 2008-09 was to the tune of Rs. 1.35 billion. Its Performance Efficiency Index was therefore pegged at 57.04%. The corresponding figures for 2007-08 were 0.89 billion and 32.92% respectively. The headquarters of the Guntur Division is located at Rail Vikas Bhavan, Pattabhipuram, Guntur.
