    2019 ఫిబ్రవరి 14న జరిగిన పుల్వామా దాడి ఈ గొడవలకు మూలం. ఈ దాడిలో జమ్మూ కాశ్మీరుకు చెందిన ఒక ఆత్మాహుతి బాంబర్ 40 మంది సెంట్రల్ రిజర్వ్ పోలీస్ ఫోర్స్ సభ్యులను చంపాడు. పాకిస్తాన్లో స్థావరమున్న జైష్-ఎ-మహమ్మద్ దీనికి బాధ్యత ప్రకటించుకుంది. పాకిస్తాన్ ప్రభుత్వం దాడిని ఖండించి, తమ పాత్ర ఏమీ లేదని తిరస్కరించింది.[20]
