This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. There is a separate template for each criterion – see the table to the right. This template is namespace-specific: in categories, it calls {{db-c1}}, and everywhere else it calls {{db-a3}}.
If this template is used on a category, it places the page into Category:Empty categories awaiting deletion and Candidates for speedy deletion four days after it is tagged. If it is used anywhere else, it places the page in the category Candidates for speedy deletion as empty pages and Candidates for speedy deletion immediately.

The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.

- This is the most basic form of the template.

- Bot accounts will specify the
|bot=parameter to notify the reviewing admin that the page was tagged by an automated process.

...on the User talk page of the main contributor(s) to the page, replacing CategoryName with the name of the category being marked for deletion. This will display the following user warning template:

This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for four days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.
