Nizamabad Railway Station is an intercity railway station in the city of Nizamabad, Telangana, India. It is a major station on Secunderabad-Manmad railway line. It falls under the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways.

చరిత్ర

In 1905 the railway line between Secundrabad and Manmad was constructed. The railway station was named after then ruler of the Nizam state Nizam-ul-Mulk as Nizamabad. The railway connects Hyderabad and Mumbai and is a north-south corridor.On 30 June 2004 the SCR operated the last metre gauge train on the Nizamabad–Manoharabad line[1] bringing to an end the metre gauge services which started in the 1930s on the Secunderabad–Manmad line of the Nizam's State Railways (formerly Hyderabad-Godavari Valley Railways)

Nizamabad has rail connectivity with major cities in India like Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Warangal, Kazipet, Adilabad, Nanded, Manmad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Guntur, Nellore, Kurnool, Cuddapah, Tirupati, Erode, Chennai, Banglore, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat and Bhopal. Many new railway lines are under construction.

Nizamabad railway station is a major junction connecting northern, southern, eastern and western India lines.[2] Railway lines from Nizamabad-Peddapalli, [3] Nizamabad-Secunderabad, Nizamabad-Nanded-Manmad, Nizamabad-Armoor-Karimnagar-Peddapalli, and Nizamabad-Bodhan-Latur road are the lines.
