జాతీయ రహదారి 40 (భారతదేశం)
జాతీయ రహదారి 40 (ఎన్‌హెచ్ 40) (పాత సంఖ్య: జాతీయ రహదారి 4, 18) భారతదేశంలోని ప్రధానమైన జాతీయ రహదారి. ఇది ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో కర్నూలు, తమిళనాడు రాష్ట్రంలో రాణిపేట రోడ్డుని కలుపుతుంది.[1] ఈ రహదారి సంఖ్య జాతీయ రహదారి 4, 18 నుండి 40 గా మార్చబడింది.[2]

ఇది కర్నూలులో జాతీయ రహదారి 44 జంక్షన్ వద్ద ప్రారంభమై కడప, చిత్తూరు మీదుగా వెళ్లి తమిళనాడులోని రాణిపేటలో ముగుస్తుంది.[3][4] దీనిని రాయలసీమ ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్ హైవే అంటారు. రహదారి లోని కర్నూలు-కడప భాగాన్ని నాలుగు వరుసలకు ఉన్నతీకరించారు.

మార్చుఈ రహదారి కర్నూలు నుండి మొదలై ఓర్వకల్లు, నంద్యాల, ఆళ్లగడ్డ, చాగలమర్రి, దువ్వూరు, మైదుకూరు, చెన్నూరు, కడప, మద్దిమడుగు, గువ్వలచెరువు, రాయచోటి, కలకడ, మహల్, పీలేరు, కల్లూరు, దామల్ చెరువు, పూతలపట్టు ద్వారా ప్రయాణించి చిత్తూరు చేరుతుంది.
ఇది కర్నూలులో మొదలై నంద్యాల, ఆళ్లగడ్డ, మైదుకూరు, కడప, రాయచోటి, పీలేరు, చిత్తూరు మీదుగా వెళ్ళి తమిళనాడు లోని రాణిపేటలో ముగుస్తుంది. ఇది ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో 381.00 kమీ. (236.74 మై.), తమిళనాడులో 27.00 kమీ. (16.78 మై.) నిడివి ఉంటుంది.[5][6]
