ఈమె తొలి చిత్రం ఓరు అడార్ లవ్ లో భాగంగా నటించిన పాట మాణిక్య మళరయ పూవి యొక్క ఒక భాగం సినిమా ప్రచారంలో భాగంగా విడుదలైంది. అందులో ఈమె పలికించిన హావభావాలకు సోషల్ మీడియాలో ఈమె పేరు మారుమోగిపోయింది.[2][3][4][5]

కనుసైగలతో అంతర్జాల ప్రపంచాన్ని ఉర్రూతలూగించిన మలయాళ నటి ప్రియాప్రకాశ్‌ వారియర్ - తనపై తెలంగాణలో నమోదైన కేసును కొట్టివేయాలని కోరుతూ సుప్రీంకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించారు. అలాగే మహారాష్ట్ర తదితర రాష్ట్రాల్లోనూ అందిన ఫిర్యాదులకు సంబంధించి తనపై ఎలాంటి క్రిమినల్‌ చర్యలు చేపట్టకుండా ఆదేశాలివ్వాల్సిందిగా సర్వోన్నత న్యాయస్థానాన్ని కోరారు. ఈమేరకు ఆమె తన న్యాయవాది ద్వారా 2018 ఫిబ్రవరి 20 సోమవారం వ్యాజ్యం దాఖలు చేశారు. ప్రియా వారియర్ నటించిన ‘ఒరు అదుర్‌ లవ్’ చిత్రంలోని ఓ పాటలోని అంశాలు ముస్లింల మనోభావాలను దెబ్బతీసేలా ఉన్నాయంటూ అందిన ఫిర్యాదు మేరకు.. ఆ చిత్ర దర్శకుడిపై కూడా హైదరాబాద్‌లో కేసు నమోదైనది. మరికొన్ని రాష్ట్రాల్లోనూ ఫిర్యాదులందిన నేపథ్యంలో.. ఆమె తన వ్యాజ్యంలో ఆ పాటపై వివరణ ఇచ్చారు. 1978 నాటి ఓ పాత జానపద గీతం నుంచి పాటను తీసుకున్నామని.. అందులోని భావాలను అర్ధం చేసుకోకుండా, లోతుల్లోకి వెళ్లకుండా, వక్రీకరించి ఎవరో ఫిర్యాదు చేశారని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఇలాంటి నిరాధార ఫిర్యాదులతో భావ ప్రకటన స్వేచ్ఛకు అవరోధం కలుగుతుందని వ్యాజ్యంలో నివేదించారు.[6]
