4.2-కిలో ఇయరు కరువు సంఘటన హోలోసీన్ కాలంలో జరిగిన అత్యంత తీవ్రమైన వాతావరణ సంఘటనలలో ఒకటి.[2] హోలోసీన్ యుగంలో ప్రస్తుతం జరుగుతున్న మేఘాలయా యుగం ప్రారంభాన్ని ఇది నిర్వచిస్తుంది. క్రీ.పూ 2200 నుండి క్రీ.పూ 22 వ శతాబ్దం ముగింపు వరకు ఇది కొనసాగింది. ఈజిప్టులో పాత సామ్రాజ్యం, మెసొపొటేమియాలోని అక్కాడియా సామ్రాజ్యం దిగువ యాంగ్జీ నది ప్రాంతంలో లియాంగ్జు సంస్కృతి పతనానికి ఇది కారణమైందని భావిస్తున్నారు. 4200 సంవత్సరాల క్రింతం ఉత్తర ఆఫ్రికా [7] మధ్యప్రాచ్యం,[8] ఎర్ర సముద్రం,[9] అరేబియా ద్వీపకల్పం,[10] భారత ఉపఖండం,[5] ఉత్తర అమెరికా అంతటా 4.2 గురించి తీవ్రమైన పొడి కాలం నమోదైంది.[11] పశ్చిమ కెనడాలోని పర్వత శ్రేణుల అంతటా హిమానీనదాలు ఈ సమయంలో అభివృద్ధి చెందాయి. [12] ఇటాలీ గుహ ఫ్లోస్టోను,[13] కిలిమంజారో ఐసు షీటు,[14] ఆండియా హిమానీనద మంచులో కూడా ఆధారాలు కనుగొనబడ్డాయి.[15] 4100 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం మెసొపొటేమియాలో శుష్కీకరణ ప్రారంభం కూడా ఉత్తర అట్లాంటిక్‌లో శీతలీకరణ సంఘటనతో సమాంతరంగా జరిగింది. దీనిని బాండు ఈవెంటు 3 అని పిలుస్తారు.[2][16][17] అయితే, ఉత్తర ఐరోపాలో 4.2 కిలో ఇయరు సంఘటనకు ఆధారాలు అస్పష్టంగా ఉన్నాయి. ఈ సంఘటన మూలం, ప్రభావం ప్రాదేశికంగా సంక్లిష్టంగా ఉందని సూచిస్తున్నాయి.[18]2018 లో స్ట్రాటిగ్రాఫీ అంతర్జాతీయ కమిషను హోలోసీన్ యుగాన్ని మూడుగా విభజించింది.[19]

రచయితల విశ్లేషణ ఆధారంగా భౌగోళిక ఉపరితలం మోటిల్లాసు ప్రాదేశిక పంపిణీ మధ్య సంబంధాన్ని ధృవీకరించింది.

పురాతన ఈజిప్టు మార్చు

క్రీ.పూ. 2150 లో దిగువప్రాంత నైలు వరదలు " పురాతన రాజ్యాన్ని " వరుసగా సంభవించడం ద్వారా సంభవించిన కరువు తరువాత పురాతన ఈజిప్టులో కేంద్రీకృత ప్రభుత్వం పతనానికి కారణమై ఉండవచ్చు.[24]

అరేబియన్ ద్వీపకల్పం మార్చు

పర్షియా గల్ఫు ప్రాంతంలో అకస్మాత్తుగా స్థావరం నిర్మాణం, మృణ్మయపాత్రలు, సమాధులు మొదలైన సంస్కృతిలో మార్పు సంభవించింది. ఈ సమయంలో సెటిల్మెంటు సరళి, కుండల శైలి, సమాధులలో ఆకస్మిక మార్పు ఉంది. క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 22 వ శతాబ్దం కరువు ఉం అల్-నార్ సంస్కృతి ముగింపుకు జరగడం ఆస్థానంలో వాడి సుకు సంస్కృతి రూపొందడం వంటి మార్పును సూచిస్తుంది.[10]

మెసొపొటేమియా మార్చు

ఉత్తర అట్లాంటిక్ (బాండు ఈవెంటు 3) లో చల్లటి సముద్ర ఉపరితల ఉష్ణోగ్రతల ప్రారంభానికి, ఆధునిక విశ్లేషణ ఆధారంగా సబ్‌పోలారు వాయువ్య అట్లాంటిక్ సముద్ర ఉపరితల ఉష్ణోగ్రతలు క్రమరహితంగా చల్లగా ఉన్నప్పుడు మెసొపొటేమియా నీటి సరఫరాలో బృహత్తరమైన (50%) కొరత ఏర్పడి శుష్కవాతారణం ఏర్పడడానికి కారణం అయింది.[25] శీతాకాలపు మధ్యధరా వర్షపాతం ద్వారా టైగ్రిసు, యూఫ్రటీసు నదుల్లోకి నదీజలాలు వస్తాయి.

స్వతంత్ర సమాజాలను ఒకే రాజ్యంగా సమైక్యపరచి రెండవ నాగరికత (మొదటిది క్రీ.పూ 3100 లో పురాతన ఈజిప్టు) క్రీ.పూ 2300 లో అక్కాడియన్ సామ్రాజ్యం ఏర్పడింది. శతాబ్దాల తరబడి ఏర్పడిన కరువు, సామ్రాజ్య పతనాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేసిందని భావిస్తారు. [26][27] క్రీ.పూ 2170 లో ఉత్తర మెసొపొటేమియా వ్యవసాయ మైదానాలను విడిచిపెట్టి, దక్షిణ మెసొపొటేమియాలోకి శరణార్థులుగా రావడం గురించి పురావస్తు ఆధారాలు ఉన్నాయి.[28] మధ్య మెసొపొటేమియా అంతటా దక్షిణాన సంచార దండయాత్రలను నివారించడానికి 180 కిలోమీటర్ల పొడవైన గోడ "అమోరైట్లను తిరగ్గొట్టిన గోడ" ను నిర్మించారు. క్రీ.పూ 2150 లో మొదట జాగ్రోస్ పర్వతాలలో నివసించిన గుటియన్ ప్రజలు, నిరాశలో మునిగిన అక్కాడియన్ సైన్యాన్ని ఓడించి, అక్కాడును స్వాధీనం చేసుకుని క్రీ.పూ 2115 లో నాశనం చేశారు. క్రీ.పూ 3 వ సహస్రాబ్ది చివరిలో సమీప ప్రాచ్యంలో విస్తృతమైన వ్యవసాయ మార్పు కనిపిస్తుంది. దక్షిణ మద్య ఆసియా, భారతదేశం మార్చు

క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 2 వ సహస్రాబ్దిలో యురేషియా, దక్షిణ ఆసియాల లోని సోపాన వ్యవసాయక్షేత్రాలు ఎండిపోయాయి.[6][30] వృక్షజాలం మార్పుచెంది "అధిక చైతన్యం సంచార జాతిప్రజల పశువుల పెంపకానికి ప్రాధాన్యత ఇచ్చే సమూహంగా పరివర్తన చెందింది."[30][note 1][note 2]

నీటి కొరత ఆసియాను కూడా బలంగా దెబ్బతీసింది:

పర్యావరణ కారణాలతో సంభవించిన గొప్ప మార్పుగా భావించబడింది. వర్షాల సుదీర్ఘ వైఫల్యం విశాలప్రాంతాలలో తీవ్రమైన నీటి కొరతకు కారణమైంది. దక్షిణ మధ్య ఆసియా, ఆఫ్ఘనిస్తాన్, ఇరాన్, భారతదేశాలలో నిశ్చల పట్టణ సంస్కృతుల పతనానికి కారణమైంది. ఫలితంగా బృహత్తర వలసలు ప్రేరేపించబడ్డాయి. అనివార్యంగా కొత్తగా వచ్చినవారు అప్పటికే ఉన్న ప్రజలతో విలీనమై తరువాత అభివృద్ధి చెందిన పట్టణానంతర సంస్కృతులలో ఆధిపత్యం చెలాయించారు.[6]

మధ్యప్రాచ్యంలోని పొరుగు ప్రాంతాలను ప్రభావితం చేసిన అదే వాతావరణ మార్పుల కారణంగా సింధు లోయ నాగరికత పట్టణ కేంద్రాలు వదిలివేయబడి వేర్వేరు స్థానిక సంస్కృతులచే భర్తీ చేయబడ్డాయి.[31] As of 2016 2016 నాటికి చాలా మంది పరిశోధకులు కరువు ఈజిప్టు మెసొపొటేమియాతో వాణిజ్యం క్షీణించడం కారణంగా సింధు నాగరికత పతనానికి కారణమైందని నమ్ముతారు.[32] ఘగ్గరు-హక్రా వ్యవస్థ వర్షంతో కూడినది.[33][34][35] నీటి సరఫరా వర్షాకాలం మీద ఆధారపడి ఉంది. సింధు లోయ వాతావరణం క్రీ.పూ 1800 నుండి గణనీయంగా చల్లగా, పొడిగా మారింది. ఆ సమయంలో సంభవించిన కరువు రుతుపవనాల బలహీనతతో ముడిపడి ఉంది.[33] భారతీయ రుతుపవనాలు క్షీణించాయి. శుష్కత పెరిగింది ఘగ్గరు-హక్రా హిమాలయ పర్వత ప్రాంతాల వైపుకు తిరిగి రావడంతో,[33][36][37] అనియమిత మితమైన విస్తృతమైన వరదలకు దారితీసింది. ఇది ఉప్పొంగే వ్యవసాయ స్థిరత్వాన్ని దెబ్బతీసింది. తీవ్రంగా సంభవించిన శుష్కత నాగరికత మరణానికి కారణమైంది. అక్కడి జనాభాను తూర్పు వైపు చెదరగొట్టడానికి తగినంతగా నీటి సరఫరా తగ్గింది.[5][38][39][40]

క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 3 వ సహస్రాబ్ది చివరిలో మధ్య చైనా చుట్టూ నియోలిథికు సంస్కృతుల పతనానికి కరువు కారణం కావచ్చు.[41] అదే సమయంలో ఎల్లో నది మధ్య ప్రాంతాలు " యు ది గ్రేటు " పురాణ నయకుడికి సంబంధించిన అసాధారణమైన వరదలను చూశాయి.[42] యిషు నది పరీవాహక ప్రాంతంలో వృద్ధి చెందుతున్న లాంగుషాను సంస్కృతి శీతలీకరణ ద్వారా ప్రభావితమైంది. ఇది బియ్యం ఉత్పత్తిని తీవ్రంగా తగ్గించింది. ఇది జనాభాలో గణనీయమైన తగ్గుదలకు కారణమై పురాతన ప్రదేశాల ఉనికిని తగ్గడానికి దారితీసింది.[43] క్రీ.పూ 2000 లో యుంగ్షి సంస్కృతి (సిరామికు, కంచు వంటి అధునాతన కళాఖండాలు తక్కువగా ఉపయోగించినది) ద్వారా లాంగ్షాన్ స్థానభ్రంశం చెందింది.
