ప్రపంచంలో ద్వీప దేశాలు లేదా దీవులైన దేశాలు జాబితా ఇక్కడ ఇవ్వబడింది.(List of island countries)

ద్వీప దేశాలు

ఈ జాబితాలో ఇచ్చిన దేశాలు ఒక దీవి గాని లేదా ద్వీపకల్పం (కొన్ని దీవుల సమూహం) కాని కావచ్చును.

"ద్వీపదేశం" లేదా "సరిహద్దు లేని దేశం" అంటే అంతర్జాతీయ చట్టాల ప్రకారం స్వాధిపత్యం కలిగి ఉండి, మరే దేశంతోనూ నేల భాగంలో సరిహద్దు లేనిది. ఉదాహరణకు ఐర్లాండ్ ద్వీపంలో కొంతభాగం ఐర్లాండ్ దేశం ఉంది గాని అదే దీవిలోని ఉత్తర ఐర్లాండ్ భాగం యునైటెడ్ కింగ్‌‌డమ్ దేశానికి చెందినది. కనుక ఈ దేశం "సరిహద్దు లేని దేశం కాదు. కాని మడగాస్కర్ అనే దేశం ఆ పూర్తి దీవిపైన స్వాధిపత్యం కలిగి ఉన్నది గనుక అది ద్వీపదేశంగా లెక్క. అదే ఆస్ట్రేలియా విషయానికి వస్తే ఒక పూర్తి ఖండం, ద్వీపం కూడా ఆ దేశం అధిపత్యంలో ఉన్నందున అది ఒక ద్వీపదేశమని కొందరి అభిప్రాయం. కాని సరిహద్దు లేని దేశం అంటే ఒకే దీవికి పరిమితం కానక్కరలేదు. మైక్రొనీషియా వంటి దేశంలో వేలాది చిన్నచిన్న దీవులున్నాయి. క్యూబా విషయానికొస్తే ఆ దేశమున్న దీవిలోని గ్వాంటనామో Bay పై అమెరికా సంయుక్త రాష్ట్రాలకు దాదాపు పూర్తి నియంత్రణ ఉన్నందున అది వివాదంలో ఉంది.1 సైప్రస్ 4 విషయంలో ఇప్పుడు ఈ విధమైన వివాదం మిగిసినట్లే (బ్రిటిష్ అక్రోతిరి, ధెఖెలియా ప్రాంతాలు పూర్తి స్వపరిపాలన గలిగిన బ్రిటిష్ భూభాగాలుగా దాదాపు సర్వత్రా గుర్తించబడినందువలన.

3 The Colony of Newfoundland covers the island of Newfoundland before 1808. In 1808, part of the peninsula of Labrador was transferred to Newfoundland from Lower Canada.
