సిద్దార్ధ్ మల్హోత్రా (జననం 16 జనవరి 1985)[1][2] ప్రముఖ బాలీవుడ్ నటుడు, మాజీ మోడల్. తన 18వ ఏటన మోడల్ గా కెరీర్ ప్రారంభించారు. ఆ తరువాత 2010లో మై నేమ్ ఈజ్ ఖాన్ సినిమాకు దర్శకుడు కరణ్ జోహార్ వద్ద సహాయ దర్శకునిగా బాలీవుడ్ లోకి అడుగుపెట్టారు. కరణ్ దర్శకత్వంల్) స్టూడెంట్ ఆఫ్ ది ఇయర్ (2012) సినిమాతో హీరోగా తెరంగేట్రం చేశారు సిద్ధార్ధ్. ఈ సినిమాకు ఫిలింఫేర్ ఉత్తమ మేల్ డెబ్యూ పురస్కారం అందుకున్నారు.

2014లో హసేతో ఫసే, ఏక్ విలన్, 2016లో కపూర్ & సన్స్ సినిమాల్లో నటించారు సిద్దార్ధ్. ఏక్ విలన్, కపూర్ & సన్స్ సినిమాలు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా దాదాపు 1 బిలియన్ వసూళ్ళు సాధించాయి.

తొలినాళ్ళ జీవితం, మొదటి చిత్రం మార్చు

పంజాబీ హిందూ కుటుంబంలో 16 జనవరి 1985న ఢిల్లీలో  జన్మించారు సిద్దార్ధ్.[3] తండ్రి సునిల్ మర్చెంట్ నేవీ లో కెప్టెన్ గా  పని చేశారు. తల్లి రీమా మల్హోత్రా గృహిణి.[4] ఢిల్లీలోని డాన్ బొస్కో స్కూల్, బిర్లా విద్యా నికేతన్, షాహిద్ భగత్ సింగ్ కళాశాలలోనూ చదువుకున్నారు ఆయన.[5] తన 18వ ఏట మోడలింగ్ మొదలు పెట్టారు. మోడలింగ్ వృత్తిలో ఆయన విజయవంతంగానే ఉన్నా, 4 ఏళ్ళ తరువాత తాను అసంతృప్తిగా ఉన్నానంటూ ఆ వృత్తిని వదిలేశారు సిద్ధార్ధ్.[6] నటునిగా మారాలని అనుభవ్ సిన్హా దర్శకత్వం వహిస్తున్న ఓ సినిమాకు ఆడిషన్స్ కు వెళ్ళారు ఆయన. ఆయన్ను ఎంపిక చేసినప్పటికీ, సినిమా మొదలవ్వలేదు. ఆ తరువాత మై నేమ్ ఈజ్ ఖాన్ సినిమాకు దర్శకుడు కరణ్ జోహార్ వద్ద సహాయ దర్శకునిగా చేరారు సిద్ధార్ధ్.[5][7]

2012లో కరణ్ దర్శకత్వంలో స్టుడెంట్ ఆఫ్ ది ఇయర్ సినిమాతో నటునిగా తెరంగేట్రం చేశారు. ఈ సినిమాలో వరుణ్ ధావన్, ఆలియా  భట్ లతో కలసి నటించారాయన. ఈ సినిమాలోని సిద్ధార్ధ్ నటనకు విమర్శకుల నుంచి ప్రశంసలు లభించాయి.[8] ఈ సినిమా కమర్షియల్ గా కూడా మంచి విజయం సాధించింది. 700 మిలియన్ వసూళ్ళు సాధించింది.[9][10]

ఆ తరువాత 2014లో పరిణీతి చోప్రా, అదా శర్మ హీరోయిన్లుగా హసీ తో  ఫసీ సినిమాలో నటించారు సిద్ధార్ధ్. ఈ సినిమాలో పరిణీతి,  సిద్దార్ధ్ ల కెమిస్ట్రీ బాగా కుదిరిందని విమర్శకులు మెచ్చుకున్నారు.  ఎన్డీటీవీ కి చెందిన విమర్శకుడు సైబల్ చటర్జీ, సిద్దార్ధ్ నటనను  తొలినాళ్ళ అమితాబ్ బచ్చన్ నటనతో పోల్చి ప్రశంసించారు.[11][12] సినిమా మంచి హిట్ అయింది. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా 620 మిలియన్ వసూళ్ళు సాధించింది.[13]

కెరీర్ లో పెద్ద మలుపు-ఏక్ విలన్ మార్చు

2014లో మోహిత్ సూరి దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఏక్ విలన్ సినిమాలో సీరియల్ హంతకునిగా నటించారు సిద్దార్ధ్. ప్రముఖ పత్రికల విమర్శకులు అయన నటనకు ప్రశంసలు కురిపించారు.[14] కొరియన్ సినిమా నుంచి కథను తీసుకున్నారని వచ్చిన ఆరోపణలను దర్శకుడు మోహిత్ తోసిపుచ్చారు.[15] ఒక్క భారత్ లోనే 1 బిలియన్ వసూళ్ళు రాబట్టింది ఈ సినిమా.[16] ఈ సినిమా విజయం ఆయన కెరీర్ లోనే అతిపెద్ద మలుపుగా నిలిచింది. ఈ తరం బాలీవుడ్ నటుల్లో అత్యంత విజయవంతమైన హీరోగా సిద్దార్ధ్ ను నిలబెట్టిన సినిమా ఇది.[17][18]

2015లో హాలీవుడ్ సినిమావారియర్ (2011)కు రీమేక్ అయిన బ్రదర్స్ సినిమాలో నటించారు సిద్దార్ధ్. కరణ్ మల్హోత్రా దర్శకత్వంలోఅక్షయ్ కుమార్తో కలసి ఈ సినిమాలో కనిపించారాయన.[19][20] ఈ సినిమా ఫ్లాప్ అయింది.[21] కానీ ఆ తరువాత ఆయన నటించిన కపూర్ & సన్స్ కమర్షియల్ గా హిట్ కావడమే కాక, విమర్శకుల ప్రశంసలు కూడా పొందింది.[22][23] ది హిందూ పత్రికకు చెందిన విమర్శకులు నమ్రతా జోషి సినిమాలో సిద్దార్ధ్ నటనను బాగా ప్రశంసించారు.[24][25]

2016 నిత్యా మెహ్రా దర్శకత్వంలో కత్రినా కైఫ్ తో కలసి బార్ బార్ దేఖో సినిమా పూర్తిచేశారు.[26] ప్రస్తుతం జాక్వెలైన్ ఫెర్నాండేజ్ తో కలిసి ఒక  యాక్షన్ కామెడీ సినిమాలో నటిస్తున్నారు. రాజ్ నిడిమోరు, కృష్ణ.డి.కెలు దర్శకత్వం వహిస్తున్నారు.[27] మోహిత్ సూరి దర్శకత్వంలో ఆలియా భట్ తో కలసి ఆషికీ-3లో నటించడానికి ఒప్పుకున్నారు.[28] ఐట్టెఫక్ (1969) సినిమా రీమేక్ లో కూడా నటించనున్నారు సిద్దార్ధ్.[29]

సినిమాల్లో నటించడమే కాక, చాలా బ్రాండ్లకు, ఉత్పత్తులకు అంబాసిడర్ గా ఉంటున్నారు సిద్దార్ధ్. కోకో-కోలా, కొర్నెటో అమెరికన్ స్వాన్ వంటి అంతర్జాతీయ ఉత్పత్తుల ఎడ్వర్టైజ్మెంట్లలో కనిపిస్తారు ఆయన.[30] 2013లో ఉత్తరాఖండ్ వరద బాధితుల సహాయార్ధం చేసిన కార్యక్రమంలో వరుణ్ ధావన్, ఆలియా భట్, ఆదిత్య రాయ్ కపూర్,  శ్రద్ధ కపూర్, హుమా కురేషిలతో కలసి పాల్గొన్నారు సిద్దార్ధ్.[31] పెటా సంస్థతో కలసి కుక్కల రక్షణ గురించి అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు కూడా చేశారాయన.[32]
